Jaja Santiago Hailed As PVL Open Conference And Finals MVP │ PVL 2021 Finals Game 3

Chery Tiggo ace Jaja Santiago was crowned the conference and Finals Most Valuable Player in the 2021 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference on Friday, August 13, 2021, at the PCV Socio-Civic and Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.

Averaging of 14.82 points per game in the elimination round, Santiago guided the Crossovers to the second seed. She also led the league in spikes with 122, a success rate of 49.8%, third in blocks with 23, and first in aces with 18.

Santiago then picked up her game in the three-game finals, averaging 25.3 points per game.

Creamline outside spiker Alyssa Valdez, who averaged a league-best 18.0 points per game, finished second in the Conference MVP contest. Valdez was also the league’s seventh-best digger with 139 digs and ninth-best receiver with 79 receptions.

Middle blocker Ria Meneses of Petro Gazz, opposite spiker Kat Tolentino of Choco Mucho, outside spiker Myla Pablo of Petro Gazz, setter Jia Morado of Creamline, and libero Kath Arado of Petro Gazz round out the All-Premier Team.

Meneses led the league with 50 kill blocks (1.28 per set), while Arado led the squad with 250 digs (6.41/set) and 154 excellent receptions (52.56% efficiency). Pablo, the other Angel on the All-Premier team, is the league’s 10th-ranked scorer, averaging 12.36 points per game.

Morado, on the other hand, led the league with 317 excellent sets, averaging 7.2 per set. In the PVL history, Morado has won six Best Setter awards.
