Rain or Shine Elasto Painters guard James Yap signed a fresh three-year contract with his current mother ball-club.
Yap who will be turning 37-years-old on February 15 next year had confirmed this report by posting a photo on his instagram account.
He added a caption: “First of all I would like to thank the Lord and my Rain or Shine Family, Boss Raymond Yu, Boss Terry Que, Atty. Mondragon, Mr.Edison Oribiana, Coach Caloy, Teammates, my family, friends and to all my fans.”
“Yes, OK na si James. He asked for a three-year contract, and we gave it to him,” co-team owner Raymund Yu said.
Yap was acquired by the Elasto Painters from Star Hotshots (now Magnolia Hotshots) prior to the start of the 2017 PBA Philippine Cup. He was traded using one of the biggest names in Rain or Shine squad at that time and that’s none other than Paul Lee.
The former PBA MVP sparked his career once again as he led the Elasto Painters against the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel during the semi-finals round of the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
He was also selected to represent the Philippines Men’s Basketball squad in the 2018 Asian Games which was held in Indonesia.
