Philippines network giant ABS-CBN is set to air the tagalog adaptation of the hit American TV series “Jane The Virgin” starting Monday Mar 28 on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida.
Follow the vibrant tale of Jane Villanueva, a hardworking and also a religious young Latina lady who vows to conserve her virginity right up until marriage as assured to her mother and grandmother. Jane continues to be true to this promise even when it comes to her long time sweetheart Michael.
Jane’s life turns inverted, however, when a medical doctor artificially inseminates her by mistake during a check-up, getting her pregnant even though she didn’t lose her virginity to anyone.
To make things even worse, the biological donor of the sperm specimen is a married man, a former playboy, as well as a cancer survivor named Rafael, which is actually Jane’s greatest crush.
How can Jane face the problem? Will Michael go after his wish to get married to Jane in spite of her being pregnant with a different guy? Will Rafael and wife Petra take Jane’s newborn far from her? Imagine if Jane begins to develop some feelings towards Rafael?
“Jane The Virgin” is a multi-awarded U.S. series loosely primarily based from Venezuelan telenovela “Juana La Virgen.” Since it premiered on US television via the CW, the show had gained a Peabody Award, an American Film Institute honor, and People’s Choice award for favored comedy show, and was also nominated in the Critics’ Choice Awards, Television Critics Association Awards, and the highly-acclaimed Golden Globe Awards, in which lead celebrity Gina Rodriguez earned as Best Actress – Television Series, Musical or Comedy.
