TNT KaTropa guard Jayson Castro William is named as the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Best Player of the Conference.
Castro decision to focus with his PBA team is now starting to give dividends for him at least for now in the individual awards.
He can use that award to boost his motivation to win the ultimate award this second conference and that’s the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup trophy.
Castro’s is now tied with Danny Ildefonso being the recipient of Best Player of the Conference five times which made them second overall behind San Miguel Beermen June Mar Fajardo who currently has eight.
Early this conference, the man who is also known as “the Blur” opted to skip Gilas Pilipinas and their campaign for the 2019 FIBA World Cup.
Instead, he wanted to give priority to his family and with the TNT KaTropa.
Castro worked like a machine fueled with diesel in the ongoing conference. He started in elimination round producing 13.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.9 steals a game.
He boosted those stats up in the semis with 14.7 and 6.0 assists. This Finals round he pushed it even higher with 20.3 points, 7.3 assists and 5.3 rebounds.
