Jeron Teng and the Alaska Aces beat the Kia Picanto by a smothering 37-point lead yesterday in the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Jeron Teng And Company Gave Ricky Dandan Another Blowout Game

For the first in his very young PBA career, Jeron Teng led his team in scoring and then delivered a win. In his last two games scoring outburst, the Aces were absorbing defeats and more numbers in the losing column of their win-loss record.

Teng logged 23 points and nine rebounds where most of his damage came in the second half where the Aces orchestrated a 36-5 run in the third quarter. He was also named as the Bida Player of the Game, also first of his many-to-come accolades.

“In the second half we just knew now that we have to play better and we gonna be overconfident with this team Kia,” Teng said. “They haven’t win anything yet so we need to step our game up,” he added.

The game of Kia versus Alaska was a dejavu of Kia against Magnolia which took place few days ago. The Picanto was impressive in the first half and even leading the game several times. However in the second half, they aren’t able to carry their momentum they’ve built earlier and the team played like they have no strategy in both in offense and in defense.

“There were portions of the game that they would play together, but when the opponent makes a move, they unravel,” said coach Ricky Dandan.

Dandan is the new head coach of Kia Picanto and already shows frustration with the team he inherited from Chris Gavina.

“There’s nothing spectacular I can do there,” Dandan said after his second straight losses.

In their game against Alaska, Kia have sidelined two of its key players due to injuries. Glenn Khobuntin and Jackson Corpuz were just watching from the bench while the Aces were busy on demolishing their squad.
