Jessy Mendiola was hailed by the nation’s number one male magazine FHM’s as the Sexiest Woman in the Philippines for the year 2016.

The Kapamilya talent got the largest quantity of votes in the poll carried out by the FHM from April 1 to June 15.

Jessy, who ranked at the 23rd spot the previous year, has been criticized by several netizens over the sexy pictures she published on social media site, Instagram. This year, she edged Nadine Lustre who finished second.

She replied by telling her supporters that being sexy is beyond what is seen on the outside.

“My body may not be perfect but that will not stop me from being confident with myself. I’ve had my fair share of body shaming comments. So, I know how it feels to be called FAT or TUMABA.”

“We all come in different sizes and shapes but that shouldn’t stop us from being happy with our own bodies. So whether you are curvy, malaman, skinny, too skinny, on the plus size or even on the plus plus size, you have ALL the right to be confident with yourself because that is who and what you are.“
