After got drafted in 2012 as the top overall pick of the Petron Blaze Boosters and only two PBA seasons to adjust in the professional league, Fajardo became an unstoppable force.
From 2014 to present, the man who is also known as the “Kraken” shopped all of the MVP trophies. His latest one was actually not locked up to him as he got injured early in the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup which gave way to runner-up Stanley Pringle.
A championship in the 2017-18 PBA Philippine Cup and a back-to-back Best Player of the Conference last 43rd season were enough to land him the highest individual award given by the league.
“Sino ba ang mag-aakala na dating pinagtatawan lang tapos ngayon naging five-time MVP na,” Fajardo said during his speech at the center-stage.
Coach Leo Austria’s system is tailored for Fajardo which is the hi-low play. If the opponent has no big-man can match-up for him then it’ll be an automatic scoring onslaught for the Kraken.
“Swerte ko lang talaga na nasa San Miguel ako kasi kung nasa ibang team siguro ako di ko alam kung manalo ako ng MVP kasi malakas yung teammates ko lagi kami nasa playoffs,” he said.
JUST IN. June Mar Fajardo is now a 5-time PBA Most Valuable Player winner.
