Four-time and the reigning Most Valuable Player of the PBA, June Mar Fajardo converted a jumper and salvaged San Miguel Beermen against the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

The final twenty-five seconds of the game went intense. First it was Arwind Santos converted a lay-up from a Chris Ross assist. Then on the next position, Ginebra’s Joe Devance only needed three seconds to respond with his long bomb as he converted a three-pointer which put the Gin Kings ahead by a point.

In the next SMB’s position, they have failed to make a basket but instead fouled Sol Mercado after he grabbed a loose ball. Mercado went to the free-throw line with only 3.6 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. The “Sol Train’s” first attempt rimmed out then he made sure the second bonus shot. Ginebra was ahead with just two points after that and coach Leo Austria called a full time-out to design a play.

Ginebra still have a foul to give in that instance but decided not to use it. The Beermen made an inbound pass and Fajardo was the recipient. Without hesitation “the Kraken” who was playing with five personal fouls made a turn around shot. The ball went up to the air then it bounces hard and eventually found the bottom of the net. That shot pushed the game into overtime.

In the extra period, San Miguel immediately made a surge with its 5-0 run that puts coach Tim Cone and his Gin Kings squad stunned. Arwind Santos puts the icing on the cake by making two three-pointers as their opponent unable to make a stop. The Beermen won the game, 104-97.

Fajardo was again in his MVP form as he dropped 24 points and 19 rebounds while their import Renaldo Balkman added 27 points and 11 rebounds who also have several thunderous jams in the game.

Justin Brownlee lead Ginebra with his 18 points and 14 rebounds but had a miserable shooting from the field. Brownlee was 0-of-6 from behind the arc and had a total of 25 percent from the field. Scottie Thompson with 13 points with a superb 15 rebounds while Japeth Aguilar added 17 markers.

Top overall pick of the 2017 PBA Draft Christian Standhardinger was in his street clothes during the game. The Fil-German was the Bida Player of the Game in their previous game against the Phoenix Petroleum Fuel Masters but tonight he was probably got sidelined just to observe how San Miguel Beermen execute their game as there are no injury reports about Standhardinger.

Apart from being a basketball player, Standhardinger is also a Vlogger. He was seen inside the Mall of Asia Arena holding his camera probably documenting the game.
