San Miguel Beermen center June Mar Fajardo served as his team’s import against the Blackwater Elite.
SMB import Dez Wells sat out in their Wednesday schedule as he is nursing an ankle injury. Wells got it during their game against the Meralco Bolts last October 27.
Coach Leo Austria and the rest of San Miguel leaned on their five-time Most Valuable Player to deliver the goods for them.
Fajardo delivered 30 points and 13 rebounds but most importantly he helped his squad to avoid a three-game losing slump.
“Yung import namin sana gumaling siya kaagad,” said Fajardo.
The team’s focus at the moment is to win one game at a time and keep their position inside the Top Four group which will be rewarded a twice-to-beat incentive in quarterfinals.
“One game at a time muna kami kasi nga eh malayo pa naman yung playoffs,” Fajardo added.
With the victory, San Miguel took over the number four spot from their sister-team, the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
The next game of San Miguel will be on November 9, 2019 at the Hoops Dome Gym in Cebu against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.
