Barangay Ginebra San Miguel guard LA Tenorio is now tied with PBA four-time MVP Alvin Patrimonio for most consecutive games played at 596.
Which also means that Tenorio is just a game away to beat that record also known as the “Iron Man”.
Coincidentally, the 597th game of Tenori will be against the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok scheduled of March 17. That will also mark as the first clash of the “Manila Classico”.
Since his first game in 2006 as a rookie drafted from Ateneo, Tenorio never missed a single game and according to him this is a testament of his hardwork and discipline.
“Parang nasuklian yung all the hardwork, discipline and sacrifices na ginawa ko, nagbubunga,” Tenorio said.
The 5-foot-9 is still at a young age of 34 and for sure he has still more gas in his tank.
Just in their game against the league-leader Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters, Tenorio once again stood out as he led the Gin Kings to a comeback which they completed and won the game.
“It doesn’t matter kung anong number as long as I can play, I will play,” offered LA Tenorio.
Tenorio is currently averaging 11.4 points and playing 33.5 minutes per outing.
