The Philippines Meralco Bolts abosrbed another defeat in the ongoing 2018 FIBA Asia Champions Cup against the Japan Alvark Tokyo, 73-84.

Coach Norman Black and his squad looks like were so dependent to their imports in terms to their scoring where only three local Bolts able to deliver the goods.

Garvo Lanete, Baser Amer and Reynel Hugnatan had a combined 14 points in the game and the rest of the score came from Allen Durham and Diamond Stone.

Durham had 31 points and 12 rebounds and played the entire quarter while Stone added 28 points and eight rebounds.

Just like in their game against the Mono Vampire a day ago, the Meralco Bolts collapsed once again the final period. From the opening period until the third quarter the score was close but in the final quarter as their import run out of gas, their opponent took advantage and mount their biggest lead.

Alex Kirk who was playing the entire ball-game in foul trouble led Takeuchi with 23 points. Kirk set the pace for Japan in the early going of the game but the Philippine squad adjusted their offensive flow to keep Kirk in the bench due to a number of personal fouls committed.

However, even without Kirk in the floor the Japanese able to find their new scoring threat. Daiki Tanaka went loose as well as Joji Takeuchi particularly in the second half.

Tanaka dropped 17 points while Takeuchi had eight points for the team Japan.

Next game for the Bolts is scheduled tomorrow against the defending champion, the Al Riyadi of Lebanon. Game time is at 9:30 PM.
