One of the most awaited even of the year especially for Roman Catholics is the “Feast of the Black Nazarene” or also known as Traslacion which is being celebrated every ninth of January each year.
The yearly Traslacion begins from the Intramuros (Minor Basilica) going to the Quiapo church.
The procession usually lasts for more than twenty hours.
It is expected that millions of Filipino devotees will flock the place where the parade will take place. This is one of the ways to show their faith and devotion.
Attending the Feast of the Black Nazarene is already a practice and becomes a yearly tradition for many Filipinos.
Schools in Manila City are suspended because of this celebration with the approval of the the city mayor, Joseph Estrada.
