Kapamilya actress Liza Soberano made an announcement that she will no longer continue to take the role of “Darna”.

Almost two years ago when Liza accepted the role of the famous Pinay superhero. She should be the latest celebrity to suit up the costume of Darna after she replaced Angel Locsin.

“I have decided to withdraw from the project of Darna,” said the 21-years-old actress.

During one of the action scenes their taking for the ABS-CBN primetime show “Bagani”, Liza accidentally injured her right index finger.

“I fractured my index finger, my right index finger po as in nadurog po yung buto the top part and the bottom also my joint. So, hindi ko po siya nagagalaw and then we we’re hoping for it to heal back to its normal finger but it didn’t I have surgery twice na po so we’ve been trying to fix it and while I was in training I noticed na can’t grip as good as I can do before. I couldn’t do my stunt trainings because we have to take care of the finger,” said Liza.

Apart from the theraphy sessions there are also steel plates placed in the finger of Liza for support while it’s healing.

It was painful and difficult for the actress for her to withdraw from the said project.

“I really wanted to do Darna. I invested so much times, so much efforts. Physically I was ready I felt like I was ready before the incident but I don’t want the project to suffer just because I don’t feel like I could give Darna the justice she deserves,” Liza explained.

With this turn of events, Star Cinema is now searching for the new actress fit to play the character created by Mars Ravelo.

Liza was emotional and broke into tears when she was asked what she will tell to her fans.
