Here are the live scores, updates, and results of the 2021 PBA Governors’ Cup Quarterfinals between the Magnolia Pambansang Manok Hotshots vs Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters scheduled on March 18, 2022, at 6:00 PM.
The Magnolia Pambansang Manok Hotshots and the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters are going to battle up against each other in the quarterfinals.
The Fuel Masters enters the quarterfinals as the eight-seed as the conference ended. They won against the Batang Pier in their most recent matchup and earned the honors to challenge the number one seed in the league, the Hotshots.
To end the elimination round, Magnolia had nine wins and only two losses while Phoenix had six wins and six losses also. In addition, both of these teams clashed back in February when the Hotshots triumphed against the Fuel Masters.
“We’re just happy to be here,” Topex said after their huge dub against NorthPort. “Obviously, we respect Magnolia a lot, but we just have to focus on the things we have control of, and that’s how we’re gonna execute.”
“That’s gonna be a good challenge,” he shared his thoughts on the upcoming matchup. “We’re just gonna go from here and just enjoy this moment.”
However, this is not the Fuel Masters squad that the Hotshots beat a month ago. Phoenix decided to replace Sutton with Maxwell and within his first three games as a Fuel Master, Maxwell put up 26 points, 15.3 boards, and 3.3 assists per game. Not only that, but their latest addition to their cast also averaged two steals per game.
Matthew Wright and Chris Banchero support the team in terms of scoring production. Wright tallies 18.1 points while Banchero registers 18 points per game. Banchero also shoots lights out as he averages 55% of his shots.
Mike Harris continues to provide great performances for the Magnolia. The import is third in scoring in the league with 29.6 points per game while shooting 54% on his shots. Paul Lee adds 15 points per game.
Magnolia Pambansang Manok hopes to welcome back their injured players, including their star player Calvin Abueva during the post-season.
