The Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Blackwater Elite at 4:30 P.M. on July 5, 2019 live from the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Hotshots eyes are now set for finishing the elimination round as one of the top-two teams while the Elite are itching to end their two-game losing skid.

That and more will be happening this afternoon at the SM MOA Arena when your 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup resumes.

After their streaking start and turned the heads of many PBA fans, the Elite succumbed to its back-to-back defeats.

Their hulking import Alex Stepheson is gone along with its promising stint with the squad coached by Aris Dimaunahan. Blackwater has no choice but to find a replacement for him as they continue their campaign this conference.

The Elite will be parading their new foreign hire that could be an advantage for them as his game still a mystery for other squads.

Staphon Blair will be making his PBA debut in today’s curtain-raiser match. Blair is a 26-years-old player who had stints with several ball-clubs in Europe.

“Staphon has practiced with us for five days and looking forward to play tomorrow,” said coach Dimaunahan.

For Magnolia on the other hand, after losing their first two games this conference they were able to bounce back strong and now enjoys sitting at the third spot of the standings.

Yet, Hotshots head coach Chito Victolero wanted to pick up more wins for that top-two finish.

“It’s a big game for us,” said Victolero.

“We want to have that momentum going to our last few games and it’s crucial for us because halos dikit-dikit ‘yung standing. We need to have the proper mindset and focus more on our execution on both ends.”
