The Elite will try to avoid a three-game losing skid and join the other cellar dwellers while the Hotshots wanted to get closer to .500 winning percentage when the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup resume its matches in the bubble in Angeles City.

Last year’s All-Filipino Cup finalist, Magnolia found itself in an unfamiliar territory where they’re currently mixed with the other teams at the middle of the standings. Yet, if you ask head coach Chito Victolero, he feels that they should be in a much higher position considering that there last few outings should be logged in their win column.

“‘Yung three losses namin parang we feel na pwede kaming manalo, eh. I mean, in the last two, three minutes of the game parang nawawala ‘yung mental toughness namin, and that’s not our character,” said Victolero. “‘Di ‘yon Magnolia Hotshots character.”

The Hotshots are hoping that they’ll carry their winning momentum to slow down and defeat their today’s assignment.

“I challenged our guys na this is a real bounce-back game na pwede naming gawin para makabalik sa liga, makabalik kami kung saan gusto naming pumunta,” said Victolero.

For Blackwater side on the other hand, the league gave them an extra day break due to COVID-19 protocols. They supposed to play against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters last October 25 but it got rescheduled for the above reason.

The Elite might have enough time to reassess themselves and get back to their winning ways which they have shown early this competition. Their usual third quarter offensive shock might only need some tweaks to make it more effective plus their second overall pick rookie Maurice Shaw may be now ready to make his PBA breakout game once coach Racela finds him that he’s now in his game shape.
