The Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Columbian Dyip at 4:30 P.M. on October 27, 2019 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Cubao, Quezon City.
The Hotshots are itching to make a win and end their three-game losing slump while the Dyip will try to make a follow-up win to keep them closer on qualifying to the playoff round when the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup resumes this evening at the Big Dome.
Just less than 48 hours, the Dyip is back in the PBA hardcourt. Head coach Johnedel Cardel hopes that his squad had an ample rest to keep them going in the 4:30 PM schedule.
“We should be able to recover quickly and be re-energized anew dahil sigurado they will come out strong,” said Cardel. “We have to be on point, lalo na sa defense.”
In the last outing of Columbian, they were able to survive the late comeback attempt of the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters. Thanks to their 10-point advantage they built at the 1:22 mark of the fourth quarter.
For Magnolia side, on the other hand, coach Chito Victolero wanted his troops to start putting on their playoffs face. The Hotshots are inside the mix of the middle scramble in the standings where the bottom four squads still have a good chance to rise to go to top-eight.
“This is the start of our playoff run,” added Victolero. “We need to be consistent in our preparation for every game. We will start with the right approach for tomorrow’s game.”
One upside for Magnolia as they enter their tonight’s game is that Romeo Travis was reported as fully recovered.
That will definitely pump-up the motivation of the local players of Magnolia as they plan to make a new winning streak.
