Both squads are looking to make a bounce-back game in tonight’s main event of the PBA restart. The difference, the Road Warriors got defeated just a few days ago while the Pambansang Manok has waited for several months just to avenge their season opener defeat last March.
The Road Warriors was the first team inside the PBA bubble to test the toughness of the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel without their sixth-man which is the loyal “Never-Say-Die” fans.
Yet, they fell short to make an upset despite the reported out-of-shape condition of Japeth Aguilar and LA Tenorio.
Despite the loss, NLEX fans have something to get excited as the much healthy Kevin Alas was seen active and has no fear attacking the rim. For sure, the former second overall pick already gained confidence in their initial outing which he can use for their upcoming games.
In contrast, if Alas is hyped up, it seems that Kiefer Ravena’s scoring threat went missing at least in the Ginebra game. The former “King Eagle” needs to regain his scoring prowess to increase their scoring rate versus Magnolia.
Known as the Hotshots before, head coach Chito Victolero is one of the early coaches this season who first tested the waters of the 2020 All-Filipino Cup.
Though some of his dependable veterans are no longer in his roster as they declared their respective retirements, they have a quick replacement and for sure they wanted to prove themselves that they will help the franchise capture the ring this time around.
