The Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Phoenix Petroleum Fuel Masters at 6:45 P.M. on January 20, 2018 live from the Cuneta Astrodome.
A three-game winning streak is what the Hotshots trying to achieve after their 6:45 PM match while the Fuel Masters are eyeing for the second spot of the 2017-18 PBA Philippine Cup standings.
Coach Louie Alas is currently concerned how his players performing especially in their game versus the Elasto Painters few days ago.
“Kung ganon uli effort namin, laging sasaluhin namin ang bola sa net ng Magnolia Ang Pambansang Manok,” said Alas.
Alas don’t want to have another blowout game where Rain or Shine lambasted them with outside shooting since the opening quarter until the fourth.
“Grabe nilalaro ng Magnolia Ang Pambansang Manok. Kung kapareho ng laro namin last time ang ilalaro uli namin, first quarter pa lang talo na kami,” said Phoenix coach Louie Alas.
Similar to their team moniker, Magnolia is shooting hot especially Paul Lee who is very deadly from inside and outside. Lee is currently averaging 20 points per outing, his best output so far was his 30 markers against the Aces.
“If we want to keep our winning ways, we have to keep our composure, execution and mental toughness,” said Victolero.
“We need to minimize our turnovers and continue to play together as a team. Defensively, we need to be consistent on our pressure defense and in getting the rebounds,” Victolero added.
The Hotshots easily cruised their last two assignments with double-digit lead. They have beaten the Road Warriors (105-94) and Kia Picanto (127-77).
