The Terrafirma Dyip is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Magnolia Hotshots at 1 PM on November 5, 2020 live from the AUF Sports Arena and Cultural Center in Angeles City, Pampanga.

The Dyip remain winless as the Phoenix Super LPG rode on the hot hands of Matthew Wright and the triple-double effort of Calvin Abueva to route Terrafirma in the PBA Philippine Cup, 116-94.

CJ Perez scored 32 points in a losing effort as Terrafirma’s woes continued at a time that the schedule was compressed once again due to the postponement of games a few days ago.

Terrafirma started the game with a 20-9 lead but failed to sustain its form come the third period. Eventually, the Dyip fell to a 0-6 record and must now need to sweep all of its remaining games to have a perfect shot of making it to the next round.

Aside from Perez, who also had nine rebounds, and five assists, Juami Tiongson and Eric Camson were the only other players to finish in double figures for the Dyip with 15 and 11, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Hotshots battled relentlessly and moved up to solo eighth place with a 102-92 win over the TNT Tropang Giga.

Paul Lee led the way for Magnolia with 27 points, four rebounds, and four assists, while Ian Sangalang had 15 points and nine boards. Mark Barroca did a little bit of everything for the Hotshots, putting up 14 points, seven assists, six boards, and three steals in 30 minutes of action.

Furthermore, Chris Banchero finished with 19 points, including back-to-back layups in the fourth quarter that allowed the Hotshots to pull away.

“We know the firepower of Talk ‘N Text, and we just want to slow them down. We don’t want what happened to us before na ‘yun nga, nagkaroon kami ng malaking lead, and natalo kami. Ito ‘yung game na hinahanap namin, to test our character,” said Magnolia head coach Chito Victolero.

Heading to their matchup with the lone winless squad in the bubble, Victolero declared his team is now on playoffs mode.

“Nasa playoff mode na kami. Every game is a do-or-die for us. And hindi ka puwedeng mag-relax dito. Kahit anong team puwede kang matalo just like (them), they’re the no. 1 team (TnT), but we prepared hard, we worked hard, kaya nagkaroon kami ng chance na manalo,” Victolero further said.
