The pride of the Philippines and currently serving in the Philippine Senate, Manny Pacquiao won another boxing title against Jessie Vargas at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Vargas who won the vacant WBO welterweight title against Sadam Ali last March 5, 2016 got the height and reach advantage against Pacquiao. However, the speed and the power of the Fighting Senator went supreme in their fight as Pacquiao knocked down Vargas in the second round.
The fight went intense especially in the eight round as Vargas got cut in his forehead at the same time his right eye begins to swell. Pacquiao took it as an opportunity as he pound Vargas until the end of the match.
Jessie Vargas was also known as the “La Nueva Generacion” or simply “The New Generation” but in his fight against Manny it shows that experience and maturity is much superior. Pacquiao will turn 38-years-old this coming November and proves that he’s still the best in business.
There was a rumor that after the Pacquiao-Vargas fight there’ll be a Mayweather-Pacquiao II. That said rumor got more intensified after boxing fans as well as the media saw “Money” Mayweather watching inside the arena. This was also the first time that Mayweather seen in a Pacquiao match.
