Marikina City now has a total of five confirmed cases of COVID-19, the news was shared by Mayor Marcelino Teodoro.
After announcing the city’s first positive patient yesterday, the total number quickly spiked to five in just a span of two days.
According to the city mayor, the new four cases got infected by an 86-year-old American citizen who is the country’s 9th case of the said disease.
Based on the report, the four new COVID-19 positive patients lived together with the American Citizen, who is a Filipino where he served in the US military. He was diagnosed last March 9 and the result was positive.
According to the report posted by ABS-CBN news, the 86-years-old COVID-19 patient is currently in a critical condition.
With this development, the City of Marikina led by its mayor will procure 2,000 test kits.
“Mayor Marcy Teodoro on Wednesday said the local government of Marikina will procure 2, 000 test kits as the city now has a total of 5 confirmed cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19),” Teodoro said.
