Magnolia Hotshots point guard Mark Barroca was named as the Finals MVP of the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup championship round.

Barroca is one of the original cast of the Purefoods franchise who won the grand slam back in 2014 and their very last title was the 2014 PBA Governors’ Cup before capturing another one last night.

The man who is also known as the “Flying B” was awarded with the most prestigious individual Finals plaque after logging 11.0 points, 3.2 rebounds 3.2 assists, and 1.8 steals in the Finals series against the Alaska Aces.

“I wouldn’t have won this without my teammates,” Barroca said

Barroca and the entire Magnolia Hotshots ended their four-year title drought last night.

“This is really special because the franchise hasn’t won a championship in a long time,” he added in the post-game interview. “We just worked really hard. Nobody expected we would reach the finals and win it all. I’m very thankful for my teammates. We wouldn’t have won without the team effort and the willingness to win.”

In Game 6 of championship game, Barroca registered 13 points, five rebounds and four assists. They made sure that there’ll be no Game 7 on Friday.
