Mayor Jerry Treñas announced the suspension of classes in Iloilo City as part of the city’s precautionary measures against the new coronavirus.
According to the message of the city mayor through his official Facebook page, the local government of Iloilo City will release an executive order for the cancellation of classes to all levels. This is after his meeting with the executive assistants, Dep Ed, BFP and City Health Office.
“I had a meeting with the executive assistants, Dep Ed, BFP and City Health Office.
Today, we will release an executive order for the cancellation of classes to all levels for the safety of all and for us to sanitize all the schools.
Also, no official travel allowed for city hall employees and no visitors starting on Monday, unless it is a very important transaction.”
Mayor Treñas also stressed that their city’s move isn’t a lockdown.
The suspension of classes in the “City of Love” will start on Monday until March 29.
