The youngest chosen mayor in the Philippines, Josh Edward Cobangbang has sworn into office. Cobangbang is only 21-years-old and he will be the new leader of the Municipality of Cabugao in Ilocos Sur.
Mayor Cobangbang guided the flag raising ceremony on friday then afterwards had a metting with the local officials as well as sent out equipment to the farmers. He also checked the municipal building.
In his interview with ABS-CBN News, the youngest Mayor mentioned that he gave directions to individuals on what he desired to do in the flag-raising ceremony.
“I gave instructions this morning during our first flag-raising ceremony what I wanted to do,” the newly elected Mayos said.
Based on Mayor Cobangbang, he would like all the 33 barangays to own portable water supply for every household and also for the farmers.
“According to some studies, by 2017 it’s going to be hard, there is also another study conducted where we can get sources of water. My dream is that all the households will have a potable source of water and that of the rice field too have easy access to water,” Cobangbang added.
Mayor Cobanbang likewise wishes to market the beaches in the municipality to draw in additional local and also foreign tourists.
Apart from that, he also wish to coordinate along with Technical Education and also Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to provide chance to youths who was unable to go to classes.
While he has many programs for the municipality of Cabugao with an estimated 36,000 population, the Mayor asserted he is conscious that many people don’t believe in his total capacity due to his young age.
