The Meralco Bolts were able to escape the late-game onslaught of Barangay Ginebra, 104-102.
With the victory, the Bolts has now tied the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup series at one game apiece and now reduced to a best-of-five showdown.
Baser Amer was among the many Bolts’ players who found their shooting strokes from downtown. Also known as the “Hammer” made 17 points with 5-of-9 shooting from three-point territory.
As the game approaches its final two minutes, Amer made a couple of three-pointers which gave Meralco enough breathing room with ten points. That buffer helped them withstand the 11-2 spurt of Ginebra in the most crucial moments of the match.
Bolts’ import Allen Durham whose role turned as their team’s decoy had 21 points and 18 rebounds. Yet, he remains to be a dependable player when his team needed points.
Ginebra reinforcement player Justin Brownlee, on the other hand, had 35 points and 11 rebounds while Stanley Pringle produced 23 points and ten boards.
Baser Amer Clutch Three
