Here are the Meralco Bolts players who will suit up for the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup.
It’s been a while that the Bolts have seen the day of the Philippine Cup playoffs. The last time they were there was during their 2012-13 PBA campaign or during the rookie season San Miguel’s June Mar Fajardo.
After that Meralco struggled to pile enough wins for them to reach the quarterfinals round.
Last year, the Bolts were able to snag the services of Raymond Almazan, a needed slotman which head coach Norman Black needs to bring his squad to another level.
However, during the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup “Rock-en-Roll” suffered an injury in the Finals round which greatly affected their championship goals.
Still, looking at the available players of Meralco they’re still a team to beat. Apart from Almazan, the Bolts also acquired the services of Allein Maliksi and Raymar Jose from a trade.
Likewise, they have several young-bloods that can give a new breath of air in their squad like Bong Quinto and several draft-picks from the 2019 PBA Draft which includes Aaron Black.
The last time coach Black mentored his son (Chris Tan) in the pro-league they ended-up with a championship trophy.
