The Meralco Bolts is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Talk ‘N Text KaTropa Texters at 7:00 P.M. on June 22, 2018 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
After a stellar start, the KaTropa are now staring at their two-game losing skid but their goal of finishing the eliminations round as one of the top two teams are very much alive while the Bolts are ready to take the challenge when the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup resumes tonight.
Meralco is currently on a rampage and they’re one of the hottest team in the league with their four-game winning streak. Probably they have already corrected their game plan mistakes after that Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok game where they’re able to escape with 79-81 victory.
Just a few days ago, coach Norman Black and his wards able to take away the winning fire of Alaska Aces as they halt their opponent’s very hot seven-game straight triumphs.
Now that they’re back on the top of the standings, Meralco wanted no more but a top two finish.
“It’s a critical game on our bid to gain a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals. We have control of our fate but we have to keep on winning. If we lose, we go down in the team standings as quickly,” said Black.
For TNT on the other hand, it was a physical and full of technical fouls during their last game against the defending champion, the San Miguel Beermen. Both Terrence Romeo and Anthony Semerad were thrown out of the game.
Without their scoring machine in Romeo and three-point spotter in Semarad, Talk ‘N Text absorbed another tough loss.
Jayson Williams also struggled finding his groove in their last game as he was only limited to seven points. Apart from RR Pogoy and Don Trollano who both scored 13 points no other local players scored in double figures for coach Nash Racela.
KaTropa’s import Joshua Smith was able to deliver points and rebounds as he dominates the paint but his effort wasn’t enough. Smith registered 26 points and 18 rebounds in a losing performance.
