The Blackwater Elite is scheduled for a Quarterfinals head-to-head game against the Meralco Bolts at 4:15 P.M. on September 26, 2017 live from the Mall of Asia Arena.
The 2017 PBA Governors’ Cup Playoffs will officially starts today and the number one seeded Bolts will face the the number eight seeded Elite.
Meralco was able to beat the San Miguel Beermen in came-from-behind fashion last Sunday and it resulted for them a top spot as well as the twice-to-beat advantage in the playoffs.
The Bolts have erased an 18-point lead San Miguel advantage and took control at the last few seconds of the fourth quarter.
Now that the Bolts are back once again in the Quarterfinals round, coach Norman Black puts back their elimination round record at their back as the game level is starting to go higher.
“Now we’re going to the playoffs, where things are going to get more difficult,” said Black.
“The focus now is just to prepare for Blackwater because you know they’ve played very well in this conference and they have one of the best imports in the conference so we have to be really ready for them in our next game,”
One of the surprising teams this conference is the Blackwater Elite. Before the arrival of Henry Walker they are staring at a 0-3 win-loss card and then after Walker joined the Elite’s lineup it became 5-3.
Coaches, teammates and even Blackwater opponents all agree that the leadership brought by the NBA veteran took coach Leo Isaac squad to higher heights.
Also, with the inclusion of Allein Maliksi who is known as a streak shooter to Elite’s roster and the steady improvement of Mac Belo as he regain his old scorer form, the team now became a legit contender.
