The Meralco Bolts is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the GlobalPort Batang Pier at 7:00 P.M. on September 22, 2017 live from the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Bolts wanted to join their last year’s Governors’ Cup Finals opponent, the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel at the top of the standings while the Batang Pier will take as the spoiler role.
GlobalPort’s chance to qualify for the Quarterfinals round was erased by the re-energized Blackwater Elite last Sunday. That defeat snowballed as it also affected the hopes of both Phoenix and Alaska.
Terrence Romeo who was again in his scoring mode as he torched the net with his 13 points in the first half of action. However, the “Golden Boy” was slapped with a technical foul penalty two after he threw the ball to Elite’s import Henry Walker.
“Akala ko binanatan ako. At dahil trailing kami, frustrated na rin ako,” said Romeo on his uncalled for act.
As a result, he was ejected from the game and can only watch the entire second half at a monitor in PBA’s media room.
The Bolts are currently at 7-2 card just behind Ginebra. Another win for them will solidify its chances to acquire the twice-to-beat incentive and will even overtake the “Never-Say-Die” squad in case both of them will tie at the end of the eliminations round.
Allen Durham continue his rampage this conference and one of the leading candidates for the Best Import Award. Durham’s stellar performance along with the entire Meralco Bolts will only get better as they have now Ranidel de Ocampo in their lineup.
