The Meralco Bolts is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the NorthPort Batang Pier at 4:30 P.M. on March 8, 2019 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Both the Bolts and the Batang Pier are looking to end their three-game losing skid. However, only one team can do that while the other will prolong their agony when PBA resumes this afternoon.
The Batang Pier had the chance to snap their back-to-back losses against versus the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters last week but the wrong call of a referee at the crucial moment of the game cost them another game.
Sean Anthony converted a three-pointer but the game official called him an offensive foul against his defender, Justin Chua.
That defeat will most likely give the Batang Pier more desire to win this afternoon. The team morale will also be boosted on the return of the league’s top scorer, Stanley Pringle.
For the Bolts on the other hand, they aren’t successful in their last two outings.
They got beaten by the Columbian Dyip then they gave the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok its first win for the season in CDO.
With four games remaining in their schedule this All-Filipino, Meralco is now in a situation where they need to win it all if they wanted to secure a seat in the quarterfinals round.
“It’s another important game that we have to win to stay in the running for a playoff berth,” said Bolts head coach Norman Black.
