The Meralco Bolts is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Talk ‘N Text KaTropa Texters at 7:00 P.M. on June 7, 2017 in Smart Araneta Coliseum.
KaTropa is looking to avenge its semi-finals loss to the Bolts in the last year’s Governor’s Cup while coach Norman Black’s troops will do its best to see another daylight in their 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup campaign.
During the start of Game 1, Talk ‘N Text kept their import Joshua Smith in the bench due to some stomach problems.
That situation should give a huge advantage for the Bolts especially to Alex Stepheson.
However, Meralco’s import wasn’t able to smell blood from their opponent and wasn’t able to capitalize the absence of TNT mammoth foreign hire.
Coach Norman Black is aware of that missed opportunity and already called the attention of his import.
“We’ll see how he handles it and how he reacts. Anyway, we only have one more game left if he doesn’t play well,” said Black.
“He has to become more dominant. He has to become more productive for us to even have a chance. That would be number one. And hopefully, number two would be the locals will follow him and also pick their performance,” said Black.
For coach Nash Racela, his preparation is more on mental conditioning. He is aware that when his team is leading, his players tend to relax.
“As a team we always talk about it. We have this tendency of giving our opponent a window to catch up when we are leading. We have to minimize our mistakes,” said Racela.
