The Mighty Sports Philippines continues to be perfect in the Dubai-based basketball tournament after they beat the Morocco squad, the AS Sale yesterday.
Team Philippines is now on its blasting 6-0 record starting from the elimination round and up to the semi-finals round.
The team coached by Charles Tiu is now assured of a much better finish this year after they settled with a bronze medal in 2019.
In their previous game, Renaldo Balkman paced the Filipino squad with his 29 points and five rebounds performance while Andray Blatch seems now starts to fall in love with his all-around type of game as he settled with 15 markers, 11 boards, and eight assists showmanship.
“It was a tough game and good thing Renaldo carried us to victory,” said Mighty Sports coach Charles Tiu. “We have to be consistent from start to end if we are to win the championship.”
In the Finals round, Mighty Philippines will meet the defending champion, Al-Riyadi of Lebanon. In the 30th edition of the International Basketball Tournament, Al-Riyadi eliminated Mighty Sports in the semi-finals round.
Likewise, in 2019, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel resident import received an offer from Al-Riyadi to play in their country after they got impressed with his performance.
