The Imus Banderas is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Pampanga Giant Lanterns at 6:30 P.M. on September 24, 2019 live from the Marikina Sports Center, Marikina City.
The Banderas wanted to improve their 3-10 standings while the Lanterns wanted to quickly return to the winning tracks when the 2019 MPBL Lakan Cup continues in Marikina this evening.
The Imus squad absorbed another defeat versus the Basilan Steel last September 17 at the Angeles University Foundation Gymnasium.
As usual, their opponent went to their bread and butter strategy and that’s the rebounding and points in the paint activities. The Banderas got pounded on those categories where it appeared that they have no match playing inside the shaded lane.
Jayjay Helterbrand and Gerald Anderson took the offensive players’ role in that game but their teammate needed also to be more involved especially in their upcoming games.
For the Pampanga group, on the other hand, they’re coming from a thrilling double-overtime match against the defending champion, the San Juan Knights in Pampanga last September 17.
The Lanterns showed that they’re true contenders in this current edition of MPBL as they exactly knew how to play with the defending champion.
Yet, John Wilson seems to know better as he made his scoring barrage and dropped 44 points against Pampanga.
John Dexter Maiquez tried to carry his team as he generated his 24 points and 13 boards output but that time around not enough to end with the win.
