The Manila Stars is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Makati Super Crunch at 4:00 P.M. on September 14, 2019 live from the Bataan People’s Center, Bataan.
The Stars wanted to take the solo second spot of the North Division while the Super Crunch also have the same thing in mind when the 2019 MPBL Lakan Cup resumes this afternoon in Bataan.
The Manila squad is coming from a win against the Bicol Volcanoes last September 7 at the Ibalong Centrum for Recreation.
It was a defensive battle between the two squads when the game approaches its last two minutes. However at the 1:35 mark Volcanoes’ Jeffrey Ryan Ongteco got his fifth foul which sent Stars’ Ronnie Matias to the free-throw line. Matias had no problem converting his crucial trip to the charity stripes and those two points were enough to seal the deal.
Christopher Bitoon led Manila with his 16 points while teammate Aristotle Dionisio added 15 markers.
For the Makati group, on the other hand, four days ago they logged another win after they demolished the Marikina Shoemasters at the Cuneta Astrodome.
The Super Crunch was super in the low-post and was one of their best tools to defeat their opponent. They won the battle on the boards, 52-39 and the in the points in the paint, 48-16.
Cedric Ablaza was the best performing player of Makati in that basketball contest where he delivered 23 points and eight rebounds.
