The Nueva Ecija MiGuard is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Bacoor City Strikers at 4:15 P.M. on September 24, 2019 live from the Marikina Sports Center, Marikina City.
The MiGuards are itching to end their six-game losing skid while the Strikers wanted to strike another victory and to extend their winning ways to five straight when the 2019 MPBL Lakan Cup resumes this afternoon in Marikina.
The Nueva Ecija squad went short against the Caloocan Supremos the last time they played last September 16 at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium.
With 21 seconds remaining in regulation during that match, the MiGuards orchestrated a 5-0 spurt to put their team to a striking distance, 90-92. They even had the chance to freeze the score at 92-all but the two crucial free-throws of Jeson Delfinado unable to convert and eventually they absorbed another defeat.
John Paul Sarao was Nueva Ecija’s leading scorer in that match where he poured 17 points and 6 rebounds.
For the Bacoor group, on the other hand, they’re coming from a convincing win against the Quezon City Capitals last September 16 also in Bulacan.
The Strikers were relentless particularly on clearing the boards and being active inside the shaded area. Those two categories they dominated and played a big role in their win.
Mark Montuano led Bacoor in their offense where he dropped 21 points and eight boards.
