The San Juan Knights is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Pampanga Giant Lanterns at 8:30 P.M. on September 17, 2019 live from the Angeles University Foundation Gymnasium, Angeles City.
The Knights will try to make a three-game winning streak while the Giant Lanterns are eyeing for their four consecutive victories when the 2019 MPBL Lakan Cup resumes this evening in Angeles City.
The San Juan squad is coming from a tight victory against the Basilan Steel last September 13 at the Olivares College Gymnasium.
The Knights almost wasted their 11-point lead at the start of the fourth quarter as Basilan made a scoring rampage.
Thanks to the driving layup made by Andrew Estrella and a free-throw converted by Rian Michael Ayonayon in the last few seconds of that match for them to seal the deal.
John Wilson led San Juan in scoring with his 26 points and six rebounds performance.
For the Pampanga group, on the other hand, they’re coming from a convincing win versus the Muntinlupa Cagers last September 9 when they visited the Muntinlupa Sports Complex.
The Cagers allowed them to make a total of 31 trips to the free-throw line and they took advantage of that opportunity. They converted 18 attempts on those free-throw tests and was one of the reasons for their win.
Michael Juico had a monster double-double output on that basketball showdown where he made 16 points and 16 rebounds.
