The San Antonio Spurs are currently rebuilding their roster as they send their star player DeMar DeRozan to the Chicago Bulls for Thaddeus Young, Al-Farouq Aminu, a first round pick, and two second-round picks.
This means that Walker IV is going to fill those shoes and is looking to improve his game to another level after the departure of the wing player. Within the 2020-21 season, Walker IV averaged 11.2 points, 1.7 assists, 2.6 rebounds in 25.4 minutes played.
The whole Spurs squad is working hard this offseason to elevate their game for this upcoming season.
Walker IV is also improving his skills on the defensive side as he was seen training with Lakers’ Dwight Howard, the three-time Defensive Player of the Year.
Despite their $50 million cap space, the Spurs decided to not sign a star player to play for their team as they are planning to let the young guns take over the season.
The Spurs are still on the stage where they are still developing most of their young talents, and this might be the season for Walker IV to shine together with Dejounte Murray and Keldon Johnson.
