The Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Lakers are currently discussing a potentially big trade that includes Russell Westbrook and Kyrie Irving, league sources told Chris Haynes.
“There’s palpable optimism that an agreement can be struck between the two sides this offseason, but there remain a few hurdles, sources said,” Haynes said.
Haynes reported that Brooklyn wants to include Joe Harris, who is currently recovering from left ankle surgery, in the trade. However, Los Angeles wants Seth Curry, whose deal is expiring with the Nets, instead of the forward.
Irving will definitely help the Lakers with his extraordinary offensive skills and also to space the floor whenever he is playing for Los Angeles together with the deadly sniper, Seth Curry.
As for Westbrook, being the floor general that he is, he can lead the Nets with his playmaking skills together with the debuting Ben Simmons.
