Here is the list of rookies selected by the NLEX Road Warriors during the 2021 PBA Draft.
Head coach Yeng Guiao ignited their 46th PBA season by drafting Tzaddy Rangel in the special draft round. Rangel along with Terrafirma Dyip’s Jordan Heading and TNT Tropang Giga’s Jaydee Tungcab is set to join the Gilas Pilipinas as part of the PBA and SBP agreement.
In the regular draft, coach Yeng took the best available and that’s Calvin Oftana the reigning NCAA Most Valuable Player. His height is 6-foot-5 but he likes to play in wing position where he dropped 15.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game during the amateur league’s Season 95.
In the second round, the Road Warriors picked David Murrell from the stacked University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons. Though he got limited minutes in the collegiate ranks yet it seems that coach Yeng got some idea of how to maximize his skills in the pro-league.
In the third round NLEX picked Antonio Bonsubre, in the fourth round they got Jose Presbitero, in the fifth round they selected Joseph Alcantara, and to wrap-up their 2021 PBA Draft, they picked Alberto Torres in the sixth round.
