The Elite is looking to a quick return to the winning tracks while the Road Warriors hopes that this afternoon will be their first taste of victory inside the PBA bubble when the tournament resumes its basketball action at 4:00 P.M.
Road Warriors guard Kiefer Ravena was true to his word when he said that he will make a bounce-back after his below-average performance when the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup restarts last Sunday as they played versus the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
Ravena was spectacular with his 27 points performance where he almost carried NLEX to its first victory when they tried to escape the scrappy defensive team, the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok last Wednesday.
With 40 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, coach Yeng Guiao’s team was ahead 100-97 and it looked promising for them until Paul Lee stole the spotlight. The Hotshots guard swished a three-pointer which ended to a four-point play.
After that NLEX faded along with the exhausted Ravena as their team absorbed their two-game losing slump.
For the Elite on the other hand, after an impressive victory against the NorthPort Batang Pier during the 2020 All-Filipino Cup debut. The hyped Blackwater immediately got their heat check when they played versus the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel a few days ago.
Not only that, Elite’s scouts may have missed the scoring potential of other Gin Kings players who usually lurking deep the team NSD’s roster.
Blackwater allowed Prince Caperal to have his breakout game this conference where he dropped 24 points plus an impressive rebounding contribution of Aljon Mariano who registered 11 boards.
The Elite’s second overall pick Maurice Shaw still not fully unleashed. After a minimal minute during NorthPort game, Shaw has seen on the bench of Blackwater the entire Ginebra match.
According to head coach Nash Racela, Shaw still out of shape.
