The NLEX Road Warriors is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok at 7:00 P.M. on August 22, 2018 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Road Warriors are looking to make a three-game winning streak and keep its record standings unblemished while the Hotshots will make an attempt to topple the early leaders of the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup as they make their third conference debut.
Surprise… surprise! NLEX currently holds the top spot of this season-ending tourney and one of their winning secrets is probably the dedication of their injured import.
Olu Ashaolu continued to be a beast inside the basketball court as he not only led his team in scoring and rebounding but also motivates his teammate to play good basketball.
“Olu is awesome. He’s defying doctors’ advice,” said temporary head coach Jojo Lastimosa.
One of the Road Warriors who probably got inspired by their import is Mac Tallo. Tallo averaged 15.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in their last two outings and enough to name his as the best recipient of 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup Player of the Week honors.
For Magnolia on the other hand, coach Chito Victolero will have the former high school teammate of LeBron James in his lineup and helped the Alaska Aces to reach the 2015 PBA Governors’ Cup Finals.
Former Best Import Romeo Travis will reinforce the Magnolia Hotshots and will help the franchise to get back at least in the Final Four after its dismal finish last conference.
Paul Lee will not be suiting up this evening for the Pambansang Manok as he is still playing in 2018 Asian Games.
