The NLEX Road Warriors is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the NorthPort Batang Pier at 4:30 P.M. on May 25, 2019 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The Road Warriors wanted to make things right and an outright bounce back game while the Batang Pier are eyeing to make back-to-back wins when 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup resume this afternoon in Quezon City.
It seems like the shifty guard of NorthPort will be having a new moniker in this conference.
Is Stanley Pringle will now be called the “Bionic Man” from his more familiar “Stan-the-Man”? His head coach thinks so and it was him who coined it.
“May mga tinanggal na bone spurs sa kanya,” said Batang Pier’s head coach Pido Jarencio. “Pinalitan ng bakal para maging Bionic Man siya.”
Pringle is set to return to be back in action and make his first appearance in the second conference. Last Wednesday, their prized rookie Robert Bolick took over the scoring slack and will try to be consistent on the return of their prime offensive player.
For NLEX on the other hand, the management has decided to replace Curtis Washington and will tap the services of Tony Mitchell who was their initial choice prior to the start of the import laden conference.
Mitchell was Magnolia Hotshots (formerly known as Star Hotshots) import in the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup but was later replaced by Ricardo Ratliffe.
Mitchell was averaging 21.2 points, 14.4 rebounds and 2.9 swats in his eight game stint with the Hotshots. Mitchell led them to a 6-2 record and got qualified for the playoffs.
Definitely coach Yeng Guiao is looking forward that his new reinforcement player will bring the same success to their squad.
