The NLEX Road Warriors is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the NorthPort Batang Pier at 4:30 P.M. on November 13, 2019 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Pasay City.
The Road Warriors will try to stretch their winning streak to six straight while the Batang Pier will make an attempt to end their awful two-game slump when the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup resumes this afternoon at the Big Dome.
Without a doubt, NLEX is currently on a tear. They have their five-game winning streak and at the same time, they own the top of the standings with 8-1 slate which is enough for them to carry a twice-to-beat incentive at the initial phase of the playoffs.
To make them more dangerous squad, Kevin Alas will make his PBA comeback this afternoon after getting sidelined for several months after he retore his ACL.
“It’s also Kevin Alas’ opportunity to get back his feel for the game in a competitive setting,” said Road Warriors head coach Yeng Guiao. “I’m excited for him,” he added.
For the Batang Pier, on the other hand, they sustained another setback after they battled another league-leading squad the Meralco Bolts last Sunday.
It was the second straight defeat for coach Pido Jarencio squad and the doors of the quarterfinals are slowly closing at them. They need to be in their best form tonight not only to stop the streaking Road Warriors but to keep their playoffs flickering hopes alive.
Though NorthPort is struggling to make wins, coach Yeng Guiao isn’t discounting the abilities of their afternoon’s opponent.
“It does not make them any less dangerous when we play them tomorrow,” Guiao said.
