The NLEX Road Warriors is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Phoenix Petroleum Fuel Masters at 4:30 P.M. on October 10, 2018 live from the Cuneta Astrodome.
The Road Warriors are eyeing for a bounce back game after absorbing a defeat against the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in their last outing while the Fuel Masters are targeting win number six and take the solo third spot of the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup standings.
Both teams features two of the deadliest outside shooter in the league. NLEX has Larry Fonacier while Phoenix has Matthew Wright.
However, the game plan of both coaches on separate sides are focused on defense instead of seeing high volume of shooting from the above mentioned players.
“Kailangan gawin naming defensive game instead of shootout this game,” said Phoenix head coach Alas while his counterpart coach Yeng Guiao says “We have to make the stops, take them away from their comfort zone”.
Both teams last opponent was the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel were both of them absorbed another loss and added their win-loss card.
If their game against the Gin Kings will be to be used to gauge which team will have a good chance to win this afternoon’s game then it’ll be Phoenix.
Also, both teams are fighting for the top four spot as it will give them a twice-to-beat in the quarterfinals round.
“To keep our chances alive for the top four this is a must-win for us,” said Guiao, who might as well be speaking for Alas. “The top is just too crowded.”
