Here is the list of rookies selected by NorthPort Batang Pier during the 2021 PBA Draft.
Head coach Pido Jarencio did the honors for choosing their soon-to-be Batang Pier player who will join the Gilas program for a while until he moves to PBA. Coach Jarencio picked William Navarro, a 6-foot-6 player from Ateneo Blue Eagles.
In the regular draft, NorthPort selected Jaime Malonzo from the De La Salle University Green Archers. Malonzo is one of those amateur players who were tagged as a one-and-done. At 6-foot-7, coach Pido will have his mini-towers as he joins forces with Greg Slaughter defending the painted areas.
Speaking about twin-towers, well looks like NorthPort will be having a triple-tower with the addition of Troy Rike who got picked also in the first round. While playing at Wake Forest Demon Deacons, Rike got the opportunity to team-up with Atlanta Hawks John Collins. His experience playing in one of the highly respected college teams in the US produced big names like Tim Duncan and Chris Paul.
In the second round, the Batang Pier used their 12th picked and selected Mark Olayon who previously played at the University of the East Red Warriors.
In the third team they took Loren Brill, in the fourth round they selected Marvin Moraga, in the fifth round they selected Carl Bryan Ravanes, in the sixth round they picked Seraj Elmejrab, in the seventh round they got Jonico Rosales and to round up their 2021 PBA Draft, the Batang Pier took the rights by selecting Jed Mendoza in the eighth round.
