The NorthPort Batang Pier is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Columbian Dyip at 4:30 P.M. on October 2, 2019 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Cubao, Quezon City.
Both the Dyip and the Batang Pier wanted to make a quick bounce back after failing to deliver another victory for their respective squads. Yet, only one team will move up this afternoon while the other will make their two-game losing skid.
All that when the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup resumes at the Big Dome.
Just few weeks after the third conference has started, the two bright spots of the Gilas Pilipinas team that saw action during the 2019 FIBA World Cup is scheduled to go head-to-head.
That’s Robert Bolick and CJ Perez.
Though their rivalry dates back from their collegiate rank, they have renewed in PBA at least for now in the elimination round.
Dyip’s head coach Johnedel Cardel still has fresh memories from Bolick how they got beaten at the last conference.
“Tinalo kami niyan last conference so we have a special defense for Bolick,” said Cardel.
Apart from his planned defense, Cardel gave his import, Khapri Alston an advise boosting their chances to snag the win. Alston was in foul trouble during their match versus the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.
“Quick five fouls agad siya kaya hindi siya naging big factor (against the Elasto Painters). Malaking bagay iyon. Kaya sabi ko sa kanya, ‘You have to control yourself dahil iyung tawagan ganyan na ‘yun. You have to adjust. Kung hindi mo na kailangang foul-in, huwag na. We need more minutes from you inside the court para manalo.'”
For NorthPort on the other hand, they’re expecting Sean Anthony to rejoin their today’s lineup after got sidelined at the later part of the second conference due to his foot injury.
