The NorthPort Batang Pier is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Columbian Dyip at 4:30 P.M. on October 6, 2018 live from Ynares Center-Antipolo.
One thing is for certain after today’s PBA schedule, there’ll be only one team stay win-less while the other will move up to the standings.
Former Batang Pier assistant coach Johnedel Cardel still zero win after taking over as the head bench tactician of the Columbian Dyip. The former guard of the Negros Slashers (from now defunct MBA) is asking his troops to at least beat his former team.
“Sabi ko sa mga boys kanina pagkatalo, baka puwede ninyo ibigay sa akin ‘yung panalo sa Saturday kasi that’s my former team,” said Cardel.
Cardel joined Columbian Dyip after coach Ricky Dandan stepped down as the team’s head coach prior to the start of the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup.
However, despite of their present losing woes and another dismal PBA campaign, Columbian is poised to get the upcoming first pick of the 2018 PBA Draft.
Despite of having Sean Anthony and Stanley Pringle back in coach Pido Jarencio’s squad, NorthPort still unable to register a win this conference.
Yet, there’s a big improvement upon their return the only problem now is how they close their game.
In their last two outings, NorthPort was seen having a big lead only to get dismantled in the fourth quarter.
“We’re always up, but we can’t close it down the stretch,” said Anthony of those two heart-wrenching losses.
“I think we need to learn how to close out games,” offered Anthony.
