The NorthPort Batang Pier is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel at 6:45 PM on November 4, 2020, live from the AUF Sports Arena and Cultural Center in Angeles City, Pampanga.
The TNT Tropang Giga returned to their usual winning ways on Tuesday as they frustrate Northport, 112-87, in a lopsided match.
In the payoff period, NorthPort staged a mini 10-0 run. However, TNT’s lead was too insurmountable to even make a dent in the outcome of the contest. Kelly Nabong had 17 points, while Christian Standhardinger added 14 points in a losing effort.
NorthPort slipped to 1-5 with the team sorely missing injured star Sean Anthony once again the match.
NorthPort shot a paltry 8/28 from downtown, for a 28.6% shooting clip.
On the contrary, Barangay Ginebra puts a halt to a two-game skid to get back on track for a playoff push at the expense of Alaska Aces, 87-81. The Gin Kings solidified their playoff push and rose to 5-2 in the standings, tying sister team San Miguel Beermen for third place.
Stanley Pringle lifted his team to the much-needed win with a 31-point eruption and 6 rebounds in 40 minutes of action, while Japeth Aguilar and Aljon Mariano tallied 14 points apiece.
With only one win to show after six games, NorthPort is now in a situation where it must prevail in practically all its last five matches to entertain chances of gaining inclusion among the top eight teams advancing to the quarterfinals.
Unlike its opponent, however, Ginebra is on a high-morale heading to this skirmish. The Kings now are on the verge of formalizing their entry into the next round, a target they could hit with a win later.
