The Meralco Bolts is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the NorthPort Batang Pier at 7:00 P.M. on July 12, 2019 live from the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.
The Bolts wanted to end their four-game losing skid while the Batang Pier are eyeing for their ninth win when the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup continues this evening in Cuneta Astrodome.
The last time coach Norman Black and his Meralco Bolts tasted a victory was more than a month ago. Yet, with two games remaining in their schedule, they still have a shot on moving forward to the next round.
In their last outing, the Bolts have paraded their third import for the second conference. Yet, Delroy James failed to deliver a victory in his PBA debut.
James had poured a fantastic 34 points but appeared to be average on the rebounding end as he only pulled 10 boards.
Rebounding was one of the weak sides of Meralco in their game against the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok.
For NorthPort on the other hand, for the first time in their franchise history, they’re now set to finish as one of the top-two squads. To make it much better, they’re still in contention to finish as the number one squad after the elimination round.
That will only happen if the TNT KaTropa falls against the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok this coming July 17. That will tie the KaTropa and the Batang Pier to 9-2 and with the virtue of winner-over-the-other rule, NorthPort will supersede Talk ‘N Text.
Still, that is a big “IF” considering how good Terrence Jones and the rest of the KaTropa playing this conference.
